Experience. Strength. Wisdom. Success.

As a Seattle traumatic brain injury attorney, I have been working to obtain justice for my clients for over 37 years. My law practice includes cases representing clients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries due to the negligence of others. Some of the injuries, although life altering, are fairly subtle. Others are catastrophic. For example, I recently negotiated a $4,000,000 settlement for a young man who sustained a brain injury when he was brutally beaten by his cellmate in prison. This is believed to be among the highest settlements ever paid by the Department of Corrections to an inmate injured by another inmate.

I handle many serious injury cases, including cases arising out of medical negligence, car collisions, defective products, civil rights violations and preventable incidents. Here are several representative results for my clients over the past several years:

  • $4,000,000 for a young man permanently incapacitated by severe head injuries from a preventable beating by his cellmate in state prison;
  • $1,375,000 for the family of a 55 year old worker who died from severe lung damage after an explosion at a manufacturing plant in Moses Lake. I helped hold accountable the Japanese parent corporation that had failed to institute a proper pipe inspection and maintenance program;
  • $425,000 for a client who sustained moderate spine injuries when an elevator malfunctioned;
  • $512,500 for a client injured when a negligently installed window blind crushed her arm
  • $764,000 for a migrant family tragically impacted when several family members were injured and others killed in a preventable truck collision;
  • $425,000 for a man who had part of his foot nearly chewed off by a police dog during an unnecessarily brutal arrest;
  • $5,850,000 for clients who suffered heart damage from a diet drug;
  • $125,000 for an elderly man who was given the wrong prescription medication by a pharmacy;
  • $125,000 for a young woman for a negligent surgery on her jaw;
  • $215,000 for an infant who lost part of one finger due to negligent medical care

A brain injury is an often catastrophic injury that can result from a variety of causes, including auto accidents, motorcycle or bicycle accidents, or medical malpractice involving anesthesia or trauma during birth. One can suffer a traumatic brain injury without striking one’s head or without losing consciousness. Although the traumatic brain injury may be classified as mild, the ramifications of that injury may be severe and permanent.

Dealing with personal injury claims involving traumatic brain injuries requires a level of knowledge and expertise in the field that not all attorneys have. That is why it is important to review the attorneys’ credentials, case results and experience to identify an attorney qualified to handle your case.
